Morgan O’Hara is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois.
Education: Morgan obtained her Master of Clinical Professional Counseling from Roosevelt University. She also completed her Bachelor’s of Psychology through Roosevelt University and was inducted into Psi Chi honors society.
During her Master’s program, Morgan began her fieldwork experience as a Programs Activity Assistant in a memory care home providing residents with cognitive stimulation as well as emotional and social engagement. Morgan also completed a clinical counseling internship at an inpatient psychiatric setting providing individual, family, and group counseling in addition to case management.
Experience: Morgan began her career at Linden Oaks as an Intake Associate whose responsibilities included taking crisis calls and assisting in referring and transferring patients to appropriate care facilities. After graduating and obtaining licensure, Morgan began working at Linden Oaks as a Crisis and Intake Clinician with the Assessment and Referral Center (ARC) at Linden Oaks and Edward Hospital.
Morgan transitioned clinical roles and started working as a Clinical Therapist at Linden Oaks Outpatient Programs. During this time, Morgan worked with both adults and adolescents (12+) in the Mental Health, Dual Diagnosis, and Anxiety programs providing PHP and IOP levels of care.
In 2022, Morgan transitioned to private practice working at Oswego Wellness | Plainfield Wellness. While there, Morgan obtained her full clinical licensure and began a therapy group for adults struggling with substance use as well as an adolescent DBT skills group. Morgan transitioned to practicing under Seton Creek Consulting in 2024.
Clinical Specialties: Morgan is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She works with individuals across their lifespan and specializes in anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, substance use, self-injury, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and mood disorders. Using a collaborative & strengths-based approach, Morgan focuses on partnering with clients to increase psycho-education and problem-solving strategies, as well as life and crisis skills as they continue to grow and overcome challenges. Morgan’s strengths lie in creating a safe environment to connect with clients and support them in implementing skills to empower their lives and relationships through behavioral changes.
Non-Clinical Life: Outside of her work with her clients, Morgan enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. In the summer, she’s usually found outside by her pool or on an adventure with her dogs. In the Midwest winters, she is always up for a yap about her pop culture interests including anything Bravo related. Morgan’s top interests include traveling the world, reading on her kindle, and continuing to grow her record collection.
