Ryan has over a decade of experience working in the healthcare industry as both a consulting analyst and project manager. Ryan began his career working with IBM Watson Health on the Provider Strategy and Operations team. There, Ryan developed a strong knowledge of clinical and operational analytics, as well as various provider strategies. Most notably, Ryan worked with hospitals and health systems in developing the analytics and strategies around CMS Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI), BPCI Advanced, and Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Value-Based Care models. Additionally, Ryan aided in developing and managing analytic methodologies for a multi-state/provider Medicaid coordinated care model study for children with critically complex care needs. This pilot study (CARE Award) was used to inform the 2019 A.C.E Kids Act.
Following his work with IBM Watson Health, Ryan worked with Via Healthcare Consulting as a Project Manager. There, Ryan worked in provider strategy, board governance education, and leadership development. Additionally, Ryan worked with a number of Indian Health Service (IHS) organizations on various strategic planning development projects and governance education initiatives. Ryan's work allowed him to meet on-site with various Tribal communities - even in the Arctic Circle.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing hockey and golf, and studying astronomy and history.
